Humanoid Fashion Robot

What the hell is going on over in Japan that they just can't stop working on robots? Hey, guys, we wanna bang the Summer Glau terminator robot as badly as anybody, but when it appears that the only new electronics projects coming out of your country involve robotics, people are bound to get concerned. Still, that hasn't stopped researchers over there from debuting their latest humanoid, which was created specifically to be a runway model.

"Hello everybody, I am cybernetic human HRP-4C," said the futuristic fashionista, opening her media premiere at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology outside Tokyo. Those will likely be the last words her inventors hear before she chokes the life out of them. The fashion robot's face was designed to match popular anime character features, like a tiny nose and enlarged eyes, giving her a manga-inspired face to go with her metallic body.

Standing at 158 centimeters tall and weighing in at 43 kilograms, the model robot uses 42 on-board motion monitors to mimic the movements of real life fashion models, such as bending over while vomiting out their lunch. While on display for the cameras during her debut, HRP-4C was able to flash a bright smile, strike poses and even pout her lips. There was one glitch however that occurred when HRP-4C's sound recognition sensors picked up too many conflicting sounds during the demonstration, leading her to mix up her facial expressions. Hey, at least she didn't pull out a 9mm and start asking for the location of one John Conner.

So what's next? Well, the designers plan on showing off their robot at a Tokyo fashion show on March 23rd, and from there, who knows, but our guess is that one of the lab techs will be boning that thing by the end of the week. With a price tag of $3 million, just consider it the most expensive escort you'll never have to pay for.
